Lithography of Prophet Moses with gloss varnish on a hard MDF.
Dimensions: 20 x 32 cm.
According to the Holy Scriptures, Moses was a shepherd who spent forty years in Egypt, forty years in Sinai and forty years as the leader of God’s people on their way to the Promised land. At the foot of Mount Horeb, Moses encountered the burning bush, which was aflame but not consumed, through which God spoke to him. God called Moses to lead the Israelites out of Egypt, promising to be with him. According to St. John Chrysostom, the burning bush symbolizes the Theotokos, who received within her the fire of Divinity in a supernatural manner, yet was not consumed. Additionally, it symbolizes the people of Israel, who are tested but not destroyed. The fire represents God, who allows trials to people to purify them and stands as a source of strength and blessing.
