Saint Vitus lived in the 3rd century AD in Sicily. Despite the efforts of his pagan father, Gelas, to turn him away from the Christian faith, Vitus remained devoted to Jesus Christ. He was arrested and endured torture during the persecutions of Diocletian, ultimately becoming a martyr for his faith. His relics are preserved in Prague, where a church has been built in his honor. Saint Vitus is considered the patron saint of actors and those suffering from epilepsy. His memory is honored by the Orthodox Church on June 15th.
