Silver icon with Virgin Mary Giatrissa. The orthodox icon is made of 100% pure 925ο sterling silver with local 22K gold plating. The rich decoration around the perimeter is engraved with impressive details and Byzantine designs. Excellent quality and sharpness serigraph with "vibrant" colors on wood. On the top side of the icon there is a small metal loop so that it can be hung.
The story of the icon begins in Loutraki, where a woman named Maria, who was a midwife, returning from Jerusalem, took with her an icon of Virgin Mary. This icon depicted Virgin Mary holding the infant in the left hand. The woman donated the icon to her friend Maria Sokou. Twenty days later, the woman died, as she had predicted. Later, Maria Sokou and the inhabitants of Loutraki, who loved the icon, built the first temple dedicated to the Virgin Mary of Giatrissa.
