Speech of Repentance | Saint Nicodemus of Holy Mount Athos
Everyone is familiar with the very-versatile saint Nicodemus of the
Holy Mount Athos. Who amongst us is unaware of his book Spiritual
Exercises which was inscribed by this enlightened Saint? Who became a
monk and has not studied the Invisible Warfare? Which spiritual father
did not intrigue you from the Pidalion, the book which contains the
canons of the Holy Apostles, Ecumenical Synods, and the Saints of
Orthodoxy, along with the work of the Exomologitarion, known as the book
of confession? It's not easy to find a spiritual person who has not
studied the book Imprisonment of the Five Senses, or the writings of
Counseling References. Furthermore, within the theological circle he is
known for the interpretation of the Letters of the Apostle Paul and the
Seven Catholics, as well as many other spiritual works. As stated
earlier, to many confessors as well as spiritual fathers, he is known
for the confessor's book by the name of Exomologitarion. In the ending
of this particular book, there are the acclaimed words of repentance,
which we are presenting in the Modern Greek language. We believe this
piece of writing could be beneficial towards one's spiritual life along
with the results it could bring. It proves to individuals which is the
meaning of true repentance and its outcome for one's salvation. Last but
not least, it shows the points of true forgiveness in which we need to
acquire for our sins, which will lead us to be forgiven from our Lord.
At this point, it should be noted that once reading this book and
sincerely comprehending its authentic meaning value as well as what is
accepted from us, one should feel the shivers going right through them.
