Prayer for Jesus Christ: O Christ the true Light

O Christ the true Light that enlighteneth and sanctified every man that comes into the world. Let the light of Thy countenance shine upon us, that in it we might behold the unapproachable light. Guide our footsteps in the keeping of Thy commandments, by the prayers of Thy Most-pure Mother and of all Thy Saints. Amen.

Prayers of the Married - Prayer for Love in the Marriage

My bountiful God, I beseech Thee, listen to my humble prayer, that I may ever feel that the married state is holy and that I must keep it holy. Grant Thy grace that I may never sin against the faithfulness and love of this marriage. Foster between us the spirit of understanding and of peace, that no strife, quarrel or misunderstanding, may arise between us. Grant us health and our daily bread, whereby we may serve Thee more. Amen.

Holy Monastery of Zografou: the monastery with the three miraculous icons of Saint George and Virgin Mary Epakouousa

Holy Monastery of Zografou: the monastery with the three miraculous icons of Saint George and Virgin Mary Epakouousa

According to the tradition, the founders of Zografou Monastery are considered to be three brother monks, Moses, Aaron and John from Ahrida, who lived on Mount Athos in the 10th century. However, historical evidence testifies to another version of the establishment of the Monastery. In the first charter of Tsimiskis (972), George the Painter (in Greek, Zografos) is mentioned as the builder of the Zografou Monastery, who signs as abbot of the Monastery. The Zografou Monastery is dedicated to Saint George, as an old miraculous icon is preserved, which is one of the most important relics of the Monastery.

Virgin the Joy of All who Sorrow - Miraculous Icon of Russia

Virgin the Joy of All who Sorrow - Miraculous Icon of Russia

The holy icon of the Virgin Mary Joy of All or Joy of All Who Sorrow, as it is also known, was miraculously found and saved in a small chapel in the village of Klotski, near Saint Petersburg, Russia. It was the early 19th century when a thunder completely destroyed the chapel, yet the holy icon of the Virgin Mary was miraculously saved. Strangely, coins from the destroyed charitable box adhered around the edge of the icon and remained unharmed until these days. The holy icon, besides its charitable messages, is also associated with a miraculous event. In 1688 AD, the sister of Patriarch Joachim (1674-1690), named Euthymia, who lived in Moscow, suffered for a long time from an incurable disease.
